TALKING ABOUT LOVE
A suggestion that I picked up somewhere on the way to here: mankind should use the word “Love” in lieu of any of the thousands of names used for “God.”
Let’s try it:
You sneeze–”Love” bless YouYou’re angry– “”Love” damn it
You’re chosen– “Love” loves You best
You pray– Let us join hands in the name of “Love,”
You’re warned–”Love’s” judgment
You’re watched–”Love’s” watching
You die–Go home to “Love.”
Some more
Love’s speedBe “love” like
In “Love” we Trust
Could You imagine if there was a judgment day when mankind would be judged by Love?Do You think that might have been what Jesus meant in this famous quote
attributed to him or maybe even Paul’s teachings were subverted by mankind to make some of its members better, chosen, and others afraid.
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love,
I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge;
and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains,
but do not have love, I am nothing.
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned,
but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3Thanks for this one Abs:I know there are more, so fill them in. Better still try it.
Hopefully our species, mankind, can now resist the temptation to make Love less than it is?
I am out of here for the next several days–business in L.A.
May Love enfold You

Security is not the absence of danger, but the presence of [Love], no matter what the danger.

My favorite biblical passage relating to love is 1 John 4:7-8:
7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
That’s great! I feel the same way

Live only love. Judi
What a wonderful exercise, Mara! I’d never thought of it before. :0)
I don’t think it matters if the way we spread the Word of Love sounds just like those who’ve done it for thousands of years. Those who are meant to hear will hear, if only because it was one voice that delivered the message. It is all as it should be so always worth it.
I love you…GFW
Had my late brother read that Corinthians chapter at our wedding. Can’t remember, but it wouldn’t surprise me if I had it read at my fathers funeral. (I ‘planned’ that Mass and had it a celebration/going to an exciting new place kind of thing.) Don’t know how familiar you are with the bible, but had psalm 121 because I love the opening so much. “I lift my eyes unto the mountains from whence cometh my strength.” The solidity, yet ever changing peaks. Like a river – seems the same, but is always moving forward. K, I’m probably just getting weird now… But love just IS.
