Here I am in Colorado in rehab recovering from broken hip surgery. I have learned a lot this last week about Love.
I am thankful that I have been spared the kind of pain that traps you in your bed focused on pain.
I am thankful I could say “no” to pain medications on Tuesday.
I am thankful that I am “young” and flexible so that I move about and have even though my surgery was just a week ago yesterday.
I am thankful for good friends who traveled from Santa Fe and Austin to spend my birthday with me here in this facility.
I have relearned lessons from this experience that I will share as I heal.
Today I thank G-d by whatever name You call him/her for never leaving my side.

sorry you had to spend your birthday in the hospitol but it’s good you have friends that would come visit to keep you company those are the good things.
I’m sorry you have to spend your b-day set up in bed like that. But isn’t it a truly miraculous thing not to feel the level of pain that is normally associated with a particular injury? It is!
